Daniel Leslie began his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in 1995 as a college intern while attending Kent State University. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Finance. Dan began his management career as a College Unit Director in 1998 becoming the company's leading College Unit Director in 2003. Dan went on to become a Field Director, leading the Central Region of Northwestern Mutual in 2004 and 2005 and was runner-up in the company in 2005 and 2006. Dan became Managing Director of the Akron office in January of 2007.

Dan Leslie has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designation, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification and the Certified Long Term Care (CLTC) certification. Dan is also a certified coach and trainer in the financial services industry. Dan is a published author writing on sales and the financial services industry. He has co-authored a book collaborating with the University of Akron's marketing department.

Dan Leslie is involved with a number of charitable and professional organizations. He is on the fundraising committee of the Akron General Medical Center McDowell Radiology Oncology Department and his office was the sponsor of the "Thanks A Trillion Care Package Project" for the USO of Northern Ohio. Professional organizations include being the Executive Director of the Advisory Board of the University of Akron Fisher Institute of Professional Selling, Member of the Akron-Canton chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors and membership on the Akron Chamber of Commerce Small Business Board of Directors. In 2008 Dan was chosen by the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce as a recipient of  the "30 for the Future" award. The "30 for the Future" award honors young professionals whose stellar contributions impact their industries and the Greater Akron Region.

Dan resides in West Akron with his wife Heidi  who works with him as an Associate Financial Representative and their son Brodyn.  In his off hours he enjoys rugby, hiking, gardening and traveling.

Daniel Leslie is a Financial Advisor and Managing Director associated with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.  He began his career with Northwestern Mutual as a college intern in 1995. 

Dan graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Finance.  Dan's professional designations include being a Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Financial Planner, and a Certified Long-Term Care Planner from the American College and College of Financial Planning.  Dan has earned various investment licenses including the Series 6, 7, 63, and 66, and 24.

Dan is also a Certified Coach and Certified Trainer in the financial services industry. 

Dan specializes in working with high income professionals and business people that care deeply about their family and businesses and value achieving financial security in their lives.   

Dan began in leadership with Northwestern Mutual as a College Unit Director in 2000 becoming the company's leading College Unit Director in 2003.  Dan went on to become a Field Director with Northwestern Mutual leading the Central Region in 2004 and 2005 and was runner-up in the company in 2005 and 2006. 

Dan's currently the Managing Director associated with Northwestern Mutual in Akron, Ohio.  The District office has numerous financial representatives and advisors.  In addition the organization provides students with over 30 internship opportunities a year.  Dan is one of approximately 30 people in Northwestern Mutual’s elite Emerging Leaders Program.

Dan is married to his wife Heidi and they have a son, Brodyn. Heidi works with Dan as an Associate Financial Representative.  Dan and his family reside in Bath, OH and are heavily involved in the community.  Most notably they work with the Akron General Medical Center and the McDowell Cancer Treatment Center, the USO, and the Susan G. Komen foundation.   

Dan is the chairman of the Executive Advisory Board for the University of Akron Fisher Institute.  Dan is a member of the Akron- Canton Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, NAIFA.   Dan was recently recognized as a leader in his industry, as well as a leader in the Akron Community, when he was named as a member of the 2008 class of The Greater Akron Chamber’s 30 For The Future and recognized in Northern Ohio Live Magazine.

Dan is on the Board of Directors for the Small Business Council for the Greater Akron Chamber.  Dan is a published author and speaker on sales and  ideas to achieve finaincial security.  He has also co-authored a book collaborating with the University of Akron's marketing department titled, Marketing in the 21st Century.  Dan's hobbies include spending time with his family, rugby, hiking, gardening and traveling.
